Stonerdanswered grow question 4 years ago Might want to start checking those trichomes to determine when to harvest! nowadays some strains still have lots of white pistils while already ready to be harvested!
Check the trichome coloration to determine the effects of the buds, clear trichomes indicate immaturity, milky/cloudy trichomes indicate maturity and peak THC potency (amongst other cannabinoids) that gives a more clear head "high", while amber trichomes indicate degradations of THC to CBN that give a sedating and relaxing "high".
Also check the buds if they have noticeably stopped growing/fattening, this can also be an indicator to harvest soon.
Btw some strains with strong "Sativa" genetic composition may have long flowering periods that can even get up to more than 10 weeks of flowering before harvest.
Hope this helps! Good luck and happy growing :)
