Brown/purple new growth?

On my smaller plant I have noticed the new growth is darker when it comes in when compared to the larger plant. Is this normal? I've also notice some minor yellow spots on the lower leaves and wonder if this is a fungus or diffency?

Brown Patches on Older Leaves Slight yellowing and brown mottled patches. Only on one of the two plants and they’ve been treated and fed exactly the same. Help diagnose hydroponic plants! Too much light/heat? Nutrient issue?The plant's leaves on the right are wilting and drying out, while the leaves on the left are spiking.
