Plant flowering despite veg lighting

CreamOfTheCrop
CreamOfTheCropstarted grow question 4y ago
I grew a plant for 3 weeks in 12-12 in a tent. It started showing pistils, so I took it out and put under a 18-6 cycle light. It has been under 18-6 for almost 3 months, but it still keeps trying to pop new pistils/buds, which I remove. When I flip, will it flower for 8-10 weeks?

Pre flowers during the veg cycle are completely normal. It will only continue to actually grow flowers once you go to 12/12.

That’s really weird.. put up some pics. It should be growing single calyxes/pistils at the node sites once’s it’s mature in veg (after 6-8 weeks usually for me) but if it’s actually stacking calyxes into buds then that’s weird. If it’s just one calyx on each side at the nodes I’m confident that’s normal in veg

I couldn't explain it in the question - it's an unusual situation, because from seedling till 3 weeks of its life, the plant was in 12-12, which I wanted to grow next to my normal plants. It turned out to start flowering after ~3 weeks, which was a little late vs. the other plants, so I took it out. It looks like it got used to 12-12 and producing pistils/buds that it doesn't want to stop despite 3 months of pure veg lighting 18-6.

Once it’s reached maturity in Veg, it will have pistils at most the nodes. That doesn’t mean it’s starting to flower, it’s just a sign that it has reached sexual maturity - but won’t start actually producing buds until you flip back to 12/12

The flower period will be what it's supposed to be. You could keep a plant in veg for a year and it will still take the 8 to 12 weeks of flower regardless.
