I just harvested my first plant as well, and intend to do the same with the trim. A shame to let all that goodness go to waste! I dried mine by spreading it out on a large, foil covered baking sheet and placing it outside in the sun for about 2 hours. I went outside and mixed it up several times to rotate the wet stuff to the top, and to break it up into smaller bits with my fingers. It worked great! I removed some of the less savory, dried up crusty leaves that somehow stayed in there. When it was done, it was dry, and broken up and ready to be decoboxylated in the oven. I placed it in a turkey bag, or oven bag, and tied it in a knot. Baked it at 250F for 30 minutes, and done. Ready to make canna butter!!
There is a website that I used for research before I started growing, and it is a great reference site for new growers like us. Additionally, they have a great recipe for canna butter. The link is below if you want to take a look. Lots of other good info too. I hope this was of help. Good luck and happy growing!
