it absolutely depends on your type of plant.
Autoflowers are not easy to control and you could end up trying to lift your lights up or cut down a main cola.
For photoperiodic strains you could simply put them back to veg and top/fim them down to your preferred size.
But in both cases the safest way would be a late training, where you try to keep your plants colas at the same hight, by tying them down.
You should still be careful and go step-by-step, day-by-day.
It's not about pulling branches, more like stretching them.
