Nodes Spacing and Autoflowers

I'm wondering the following; I don't want tall lanky plants, but I also don't want to hurt my yeild by having the nodes too tight to where they can't grow right. So, the question is: Is it possible for nodes to be too tightly packed? I'd prefer the scientific reasons if possible.

Sure it’s possible but not likely to ever be an issue.. Genetics are more of a factor in my opinion than anything. Keep your PPFD on point and she’ll pack on bud as tightly as genetically possible (assuming all other factors are on point) My tightest nodes have been about every 1/2-2/3” and that’s about as tight as it gets indoor in my experience. So yeah just keep it around 1000 PPFD in flower and let the genetics do their thing.

We all long for tight spaces nodes, but then again you don't want them on top of each other either. Just makes for longer buds that are easier to trim then a bunch of little nuggies all over her. If your using good led or hid while in veg, there's no worries about the nodes being to tightly spaced. That happens more with fluorescent lighting that is kept very close to the tops of plants.
