Bud rot?

Laxzeus32
Laxzeus32started grow question 3 years ago
Can leaves be an indicator of bud rot without seeing actual bud rot? Day 65, day 35 of flower. Looks bad...question really isn’t what I can do from here, I think I need to ride it out and harvest early. But is she a lost cause or likely candidate for bud rot?

No fan leaves are not an indication of bud rot. Does it smell bad? Bud rot generally has a putrid rot smell to it. Fan leaves getting messed yo in flower is most of the time a little hungry or experiencing some nutrient lock out. But to me it just looks like the plant is consuming fan leaves to make your dank flower fatter. So if it smells as it should I wouldn’t worry to much and ride it out.

Thank you all SO much for reassurances. I’m colorblind and paranoid about not seeing discoloration the same way others do. I’ll keep monitoring ph and working to lower humidity. I truly appreciate you all taking the time to reply!

Doesn't look like rot friend 😎 When I had a plant look like this it was because of these reasons: Age of plant (its normal for a few leaves to look this way after around week 5ish flower) Improper pH'ing Too intense lighting Nutrient burn Personally, I would check the parameters before worrying about diseases in the plant. Every few days check: pH Ppm or EC Monitor light dimmer or distance (sometimes lights can get cranked to full power by mistake while working in your garden so it's not a bad idea to double check them) I think you should let her grow till harvest and just maintain the health of her as best you can. So far the buds themselves look alright 👌 Happy growing friend!

I personally dont see anything that would make me think of budrot, I would definitely wait it out, those buds still got some weeks to go. I really wouldnt suspect bud rot given the stage of flowering. Seems like possibly quite a nute burn? You write in your grow journal you have 70% air humidity, that does strike me as high for flowering tho, and could potentially lead to budrot from my experience so I would personally lower that. Best of luck with your grow! :)

Hi Laxzeus, being able to discover the very first sign of rot is the stuff of very experienced growers. Your bud has ruined leaves but no visible signs of rot. Watch my video in the link and you will see a very first and almost invisible sign of rot. I would stay the course. You harvest early all of it will be premature and junky. If you harvest when you should at least you can salvage the good and junk the bad if you suspect you have bud rot. I’d rather have a decent half harvest vs a 100% bad harvest. It’s really hard to say through a picture. Too bad there’s no smellovision technology yet 🤣

It is very common to see fan leaves start getting messed up around week 5. Also your bud looks good. Anyway fan leaves are not the prize.
