I use a inexpensive pocket microscope to look at ball on top of the trichomes. Many varieties are ready to harvest when most have turned Hazy/milky. I also like to wait until about 5-10% have turned amber which usually means 10% are clear, 80% milky and 10% amber. If you harvest earlier (more milky, less amber) you will get a more uplifting high. If you wait longer more will turn amber and you will get more relaxing couch lock stoned affect.
