Defoliation is sadly a generally mis-understood aspect of cannabis cultivation.
I am very anti defoliation and would suggest you definitely do not remove any more healthy green leaves.
These healthy green leaves are the "factories" that make all the energy your plant needs to grow her flowers.
Less leaves = less energy being made = less growth.
In future, I would recommend that you only ever remove yellow/brown leaves, for by the time they are yellow, they have served their purpose.
Besides, if your plant did not need those leaves, it would not have grown them in the first place!
Another thing, the older leaves serve as a ready store of growth elements (carbs, sugars, amino acids etc) that your plant will draw upon during flowering, as it is more efficient to re-use the pre -made elements from the older leaves than it is to grow flowers and make those growth elements from new at the same time.
Without the old leaves as a source of elements, the plant must divide its energy between growing flowers and making new growth elements. Had all the leaves been left alone, all the plants energy can go towards flower growth. Flowers (buds) do not need direct access to light to grow properly, but they do need as many leaves as possible to make the energy that they need to grow.
So, not only does defoliation reduce a plants capacity to make energy, it also robs the plant of a vital source of pre-made growth elements too.
Just remember -
Maximum amount of healthy green leaves = maximum amount of energy production = maximum growth.
It really is that simple!
Hope this helps, Organoman.
