You should be fine with tape. I usually have an accident per grow. I use surgical tape because it is breathable.

It is sufficient to wrap it in adhesive tape but try to tighten it as much as possible. There will be no problem and it will recover in no time. My Gorilla Glue #3 also broke at the stem and you can see in my journal that I didn't even notice that this hurt it. You can see pictures of my wrap and subsequent recovery and evolution in my journal. Good luck!

Hello in thos situation i use a wet piece of shirt and i wrap the branch with it and put some tape above it. The wet shirt will keep the broken area in humidity and this will help a lot to recover. Do this and wrap it thighly you will see it works great. Trust me. Good luck. Bye

Put back the stem in his position and block it whit whatever you want, tape is good.. The objective is to keep it clean in order to aviod infections etc... the plant io going to slowdown a little bit because she must repair the stem πŸ˜‰ Good luck πŸ’šπŸ’š

If we're sharing techniques then I like to use a bit of organic bee wax. You mould it in your hands until plyable then wrap around the broken stem. It works like glue/tape and a splint except it is soft enough that the lant can grow through the wax once healed not causing any stress. Have funπŸ™πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸŒ±

You can use glue but if it seals the wound it will not recover right. I would just leave the tape there. I usually use a scotch or masking tape. Duck tap is too tacky for my liking. Would wait a good 2 weeks before considering removing it.

I prefer to use a splint attached with soft, rubber covered tie wire above and below the break. Using tape can lead to excess moisture and fungal problems attacking the break. By using a splint, the break stays dry and can completely heal itself and after about 4 weeks, the splint can then be removed all together. I would also suggest re-potting very soon, those cups look awfully small for that sized plant to me. Cheers, Organoman.
