When do autos enter veg?

I start counting when the plant is solidly above ground but then flowering seems to take 7-10 days longer than the breeder says. By my counting most auto's that say they veg for 4 weeks usually take 5 weeks. Counting from when you have the first pair of true leaves will give a veg time that matches more closely with what breeders advertise (still, their total grow time always seems to be a week or two too fast)

Ok... all plants have 3 different stages: seedling (when it first pops out of the soil or breaks open the seed casing depending on how you choose to germinate) - this stage will show you two "leaves" that are not true leaves. Vegetative begins when the true leaves appear... in autoflowers, this is generally within a day or two of the seedling stage. Autoflowers are programmed to go into pre-flower about week 3 and enter the flowering stage around week 4... so the vegetative state of an autoflower extends from ABOUT Day 3 to ABOUT Day 28.... Auto are considered in veg before they start to produce calyx and pistils.

I consider that the germination/seedling phase lasts 21 days. But an autoflower I would just track the weeks as they go along because she’s going to flower when she wants. That’s just me. But other may have a different opinion. Good luck 🤙
