Tricomes embered to soon

Itsgnomegrownstarted grow question 3 years ago
My flowers are starting to make orange tones and embering way to early in flower. Is it to much light intensity or to much calcium you think. I’m using sf4000 at 50% putting out 240 watts for early flower. I’m cal mg2.5ml every three weeks so it could be genetic idk. Any thought

Yeah I suppose it definitely could be down to genetics. Your plants are nice so I say just enjoy the ride and accept your flower for what it will become. I have some blue jack that makes it’s sugar leaves go a hue of purple. As long as we get the end result. It’s really all that matters.

It could be a genetic feature thinking about it. It’s big bud and purple urkle as parents After all. so that could explain the orange tones. Usually I see the embers orange half way in but I have never seen the tricomes dye the pistols orange at the beginning of flower. There’s some red hairs poking through her pollen sacs which is normal, but seeing an orangish almost clear tricome production is concerning. I’ve always looked at clear then waited for the cloudy as indication to cut, but never seen orange color . Should have been more specific.

@papa_T, I’m not talking about the pistils, I know what the difference is between them. What I’m saying is my pistils are just now starting there first stretch and have developed. I’m talking about tricomes, those nice cloudy things that we all love to see are turning orange on three or four of my preflowers and they are dying my pistils on the bottoms. At first I thought I might of got some cal mag on them but when I looked with a magnifying glass I seen it clear as day. The tricomes have a orange coloration to them. I’ll try to get a better pic if I can and post in next weeks entry to show ya.

Plant looks good for the most part my friend. Maybe a little heavy on the nitrogen but your still early in flower. Pistols can turn orange or pink depending on genetics as more white hairs develop as the buds mature. Nice looking plant my friend! Nugs for days! Happy growing and stay high! 😎😎🍁🍁🤜💨

Ok let’s get terms properly first. What you call tricomes are pistils. Tricomes are the “crystals” that form on the sugar leaves and appear frosty. No as for your pistils turning orange. I’ve seen some turn amber as early as end of week three of flower. But really start turning orange week 4 all the way to the end and it’s completely normal for them to turn orange. It may be due to conditions but a flower will do what it wants when it wants. Your plants look good to me so just keep doing what you’re doing. No stress friend. 🤙
