Your Mimosa may start soon to go into preflower, for now there no pistils or white hairs showing yet ,instead of chopping of leaves try to bend them or tuck them ,you can chop few that cover bud sites ,but not in one go to avoid stress her even more.I would do 1-2 leaves a day others tuck and bend.

I would bend her over as 90 degrees as you can get her and tuck the fans underneath. She has great leaves and seems to be more Sativa to do so. Look at my grandmommy purple diary and you’ll get idea of what I’m saying by bending as far over. If you bend her all the way over as straight as you can get her the only thing you have to worry about doing is minor defoliation the first week of flower and you only have to cut the biggest fans , oldest Fans first my family use to say. The rest of the leaves can all be tucked underneath your bud sites so you don’t have to sacrifice them and all of the light will penetrate right on your buds it’s like one giant crown of Colas. Hope that helps. Also another beneficial thing about doing it that way you don’t have to worry about tying your buds because they stretch so far they don’t have to be anchored they just bend over and grow up

I dont defo a lot,as the other user said, leaves are energy. You have a lot of big leaves, that they are obscuring buds sites but, instead of defoliating, try to bend the leaves in order to expose to the light all the bud sites. Good luck 👊🏽🍀

It would appear there is room for minor defoliation to the underside of the canopy. You could begin to remove some of the smaller shoots to divert the energy to the existing colas particularly if you are planning on keeping the size of the plants contained. This will also allow improved airflow.

I do NOT "defoliate". The plant gets it's energy from the leaves. Less leaves = less energy = less buds. If the plant is short I will sparingly remove very low annoying leaves that make watering difficult. In flower I will remove leaves that are really shading bud sites where tucking doesn't work. And I'll remove leaves from the very bottom that are heavily shaded. But, I don't remove leaves if I can help it. Even leaves at the bottom in the shade are a source of nutrients for the upper parts of the plant and they serve as an early warning for nutrition problems as they will show mobile nutrient deficiencies first.

Hey, I don't see signs of sex on that plant. Your will see small white hairs of pistils coming out of the nodes when it is a female and showing preflower sex. as for defoliation I don't do it unless its blocking light or airflow to sites. It can be a small setback for a larger plant or a big setback for a smaller plant. Rule of thumb is only defoliate the bigger fan leaves and never for then 1/4 of the plant. Best of Luck and Happy Growing

Unless you want to prolong veg stage for week, then harm her first, straight before watering, better in the morning of the day. I would SuperCrop top too and give support for not falling down or recovering too quick. Lovely girl. You can go other way too, just clean bottoms from all worthless shit on first two three nods of first two pairs of bottom branches. It's one of those, were if she stretched a bit will have plenty of airflow and defoliation would not be needed, so you loose weight if you apply. Very specific, I love all hard training, but do it by my counts, if you doubt, better not, unless you are pro ;)) All the best !!!
