Hi @Clepage4! When it comes to mainlining, the key is to focus the energy onto the main apical summits, you don't want big fan leaves below the canopy because you need the plant to drive the energy to the top, in order to expand her main stems quickly. That being said, you will need a few leaves for the photosynthesis process, so keep them growing until the stem has grown to the next node, then remove every leaf below this node. Remember that tucking is less stress than cutting, and always give the plant a few days to recover after each defoliation. Check out my diaries for some wicked mainlining projects 😎 Hope this will help, let me know in the comments section if you need any further information, and happy growing!

Mainlining done right, looks great. I prefer defoliation at week 5 of flower when stretch is mostly done, then you can take away all popcorn buds and leaves around them buds. I would say about 1/3 to cut off from below.

Sorry brother just found this question. Indica dominant auto flower strains don't respond well to massive defoliation's especially while in bloom.Tying back, leaf tucking would have been a better solution until a later stage of flowering. Gradually removing lower fan leaves and bud sites leaving ample fan leaves on the upper branches is crucial to support proper photosynthesis. Good luck with your grow.👍

I would wait till week 3 or 4 when u have little budlets formed. Then strip from bottom up 1/3 at the base of plant. If your plant is stressed I would defoliate gradually. If not strip away. As of now u have just the right amount stripped with plenty of light penetrating. Looking good

Don't take anything off until the Stretch has ended. Then remove anything not recieving light down below and any big leaves higher up shadowing bud sites. That's it really.

With mainlining around week three of flower I trim everything below the top 10 inches. Like a scrog but without the net.

At this point since you switched to flower all you want to do is remove the top fan leaves that are blocking light to your lower budsites. Once the flowering stretch is over you can defoliate again if there are a lot of leaves blocking light. Good luck with flowering!
