Molasses has absolutely no direct effect on the plant itself, it is purely an outdated hippy myth from the 1960s.
You are much better off giving humic acid or fulvic acid or amino acids, or best of all, all three, these will actually benefit your plant immensely.
The idea of giving sugar to make sugar (trichomes) is botanically and chemically impossible.
Sugar is water based and trichomes are oil based.
Besides, trichome production is genetically linked and a plant can not produce more trichomes than its genetic program dictates. All we as growers can do is guide a plant through life and provide optimal conditions and prime plant health so that the plant can express its genetic potential to the fullest.
There are no magic tricks/potions/elixirs that can turn an average plant into a super plant - it is all down to genetics and plant health, nothing more, nothing less.
Adding some mychorrihzae, even at this late stage will do 10,000 times more good than any sugar water/molasses.
Hope this helps, Organoman.
