Depends what you’re asking exactly.. they’ll have levels of ethylene before 12/12 is initiated (assuming you’ve vegged at least 4-6 weeks).. But it takes a few nights of 12 hours of darkness for them to actually initiate flowering in my experience.. but the signs won’t be evident for 10 days or so.. Stretching usually starts after 5-10 days from flip.. Then you’ll get clusters of pistils/stigmas around 14-21 days in. This is all relative to how long you’ve vegged like I mentioned earlier in post. Less than 4 week old plants do not have enough of the hormone ethylene to even begin the process of flowering.. so for a fast trigger into flower it helps to have vegged around 6-10+ weeks.

Hello. My answer is 3 days. In the past I've taken clones and forgot to take clones at flowering. I can take clippings to make clones but the longer you go into flowering you get weird mutated growing leaves until the plant comes out of flowering and goes into veg. I try to take clipping/clones at the switch to 12/12 but the clippings I have taken at 3 days into flowering showed the weird leaf mutations and 2 days didn't. My answer is 3 days and that is my reason why I think that. Chuck.

You have a lot of good nformation in here. It will be you that has to make the call. We all have out own growing styles and philosophies. In general, if you going to defoliate before flower, do it sooner then later aorund the light switch. When using defoliation technique don't forget it does not automatically equal bigger better yields. Its a small tool to help better airflow and light when need, not everyone needs to do this. Your plants are smaller and would benefit more so from LST and treading them into the screen. The only area that could be stripped of eaves is the very bottom of the plant in my opinion. The hormones will start to build up as soon as the nights switch, but they take time to get to any level that will have actions within the plant. think of it like a very slow sun burn. its happening but its not just automatically burnt. Your looking at about 2 weeks time before you start to see anything drastically happening. It should show sex within this time frame. little pistils pooping out of nodes one thing to always remember when growing and starting new grow, new or old. KEEP IT SIMPLE. You'll do well, don't over think it. You got this Happy Growning!

Leave those girls alone, max you can do - bend them with wires to flatten out and use your lowered scrog, no need for reducing any mass, they are too small , you won't need that scrog if you stress them, believe me ... On switch day is recommended to prolong night duration up to 24 hours, helps in transition. Keep humidity in high sixteies or middle of seventies, don't forget veg nutes, add a bit bloom and tuck new grow with thinking of future space and direction to fulfill your space. They like hotter temps too, I go 25-27 cel in those two weeks. All the Best !

Takes about 2 weeks after light switch. But after week 1 you will start to notice stretching. Increase potassium and phosphorus levels stronger, and stronger till after bulking. While reducing nitrogen level.

Dont defoliate at all IMO, unless you’re talking about clearing out the lower growth to “lollipop”
