I would not do that its too strong. In seedling stage i would give it a neutral low nut soil to make it eager to explore for nutes and develop them roots

It’s not as big of a concern being that your running photos rather than autos. That said I usually go until there’s 3ish nodes and plenty of roots visible on the drainage hole at the bottom. Sometimes I’ll pop it out of the cup and check and decide by the look of the root structure.

jus a bit of overwatering combined with the point of the lifecycle it's at. At this stage most of the action is happening in the soil not outside . nothing to worry about, just transplant when you're ready... or do the solocup challenge :-) hope this helps ! πŸš€

Hey there again HiddenMessage, so when talking about the root mass itself, especially with small plants there's a few things to consider. First off the plant is extra sensitive, even the oil from your hands can kill off a seedling if it's young enough. for the root mass itself though, you want to imagine what's happening in nature : microbes and bugs are constantly "attacking" the root system and this actually helps the root system develop. In my experience as long as you dont cut more than 20% of the root mass off then the plant will actually thank you. Root pruning is totally a thing in hydro , you remove the tips of the roots with a scissor . So hopefully, as long as nothing bad got on the roots, and the roots didnt loose any more than like 15% of their mass , the plant will have experienced shock but it will totally recover in a week or so. plus remember : at this stage most of the action is happening under the soil, so you just have to be patient. If you're really worried , try adding humic acid which should reduce the transplant shock from a week to only a day or so. Hope this helps ! πŸš€

Hello hiddenmessage. Yes you can do it with 2 plant. More space you give them and more space they will take and if you top them to have many main branches they will get more big . more you want to make a long veg 10 weeks so they will have time to fill the space. Hope you will produce some monster plant. It will be cool to see. Good luck. Bye

In terms of root space. With a 10 gal grow container. What is the longest comfortable time to veg and have plenty of room for roots during a 9 week flower? Will I be good at 10 weeks veg? or is 10 gal not big enough for this long?

If your pressed for time you could switch them, If you really need to. Ideally your canopy should be 90% covered and your right now yours is maybe 50% - maybe another 2 weeks with some LST will get you around 65-70% Twist and wind them branches under the mesh and realize the plants will start to stretch in the first few weeks after switch and help fill the space up faster. The plants have seemed to stall in growth from the last few weeks of updates. Best of Luck and Happy Growing.

when switching to flower. how long does it take the plants to start their hormone change?

Ezzjaybruhanswered grow question 3 years ago
Depends what you’re asking exactly.. they’ll have levels of ethylene before 12/12 is initiated (assuming you’ve vegged at least 4-6 weeks).. But it takes a few nights of 12 hours of darkness for them to actually initiate flowering in my experience.. but the signs won’t be evident for 10 days or so.. Stretching usually starts after 5-10 days from flip.. Then you’ll get clusters of pistils/stigmas around 14-21 days in. This is all relative to how long you’ve vegged like I mentioned earlier in post. Less than 4 week old plants do not have enough of the hormone ethylene to even begin the process of flowering.. so for a fast trigger into flower it helps to have vegged around 6-10+ weeks.

I've heard of a preflower flush when you switch to 12/12 but otherwise if your numbers are stable, PH EC going in and coming out, then I would not worry about it. Good Luck!

Organomananswered grow question 3 years ago
Nothing bad, these are "trace elements" and the plant will not take up more than it needs, they can not burn the plant, just make sure to not give any more for double the length of time as what your normal dosing schedule has been, that is, if you have been giving cal/mag once a week, don't give any for two weeks.

Hey bro. Nah, they'll be fine. If it were serious and air-flow was completely cut off your plant would be near death. It takes prolonged high RH and even with high RH you can still do a grow once you have decent air cir. Keep the windows off your tent and if this happens again you will massively decrease the probs that can happen from sudden air cut off. 12hrs is nothing to be worried about if your plants bounced back they'll be just fine buddy. Good luck.

You generally lose 60-70% of weight depending on the bud, and how dry u like it. I like mine a bit drier than most pple so my buds weight a bit less, but ive never lost buds to mold and can store em for 6 months without burping and they still fine so its works for me. That should be a solid 5-6 gr bud when dry.

Hey great looking grow man. Good luck. Just as I was going through your diary. Noticed 1 r 2 things. You keep the lights on 24hrs for veg? This is partly the cause of your plants are so low. Plants stretch in temp changes and their rest period. Espically for photos this rest period is crucial to training your plant up. Also, plants chase light. If you start it from 30-40 cm away and as it grows you move the light up with the canopy this will help the growth phase when the light is on. This will even help stretch even if you don't decide to let them have a rest. But all plants need rest. No where in the world does a healthy plant get 24hrs of sunlight. And why photos get so big outdoors aswel as autos is cause they chase the light and the big swing in temp change in the rest period. I know I have not grown photos but it doesn't take away from the fact that these 2 things done control H. Them 2 things and temp changes and with the light being on 24/7 there is hardly a decent enough temp change to bring it into affect. Good luck buddy.
gottagrowsometime
gottagrowsometimecommented3 years ago
@HiddenMessage, it's the swing in the temp that causes a stretch buddy. And with 70c that temp is more than enough. It's roughly the temp mine go into when they rest. Anyways, I'm just passing on what I've learnt. But, yeah, you'd have much mre experience in dealing with 'em. Best of luck with flowering.

Hi there brother, couldnt help but notice as healthy as they look, they seem a bit small for a plant that has been in veg for 11 weeks and 3 into flower, your feeding certainly looks OK as she is not showing any signs of the usual over/under feeding. I did tho make some observation on your diary that could be preventing optimal growth. I use the word optimal because there is no right or wrong, "weed" is a weed after all. What we aim to do is optimize all areas we can control to make sure all processes and functions of the plant run in balance. If any one of the cardinal 9 rules of growth run at 10% the entire plant runs at 10%. Optimal photosynthesis occurs at leaf surface temperature of 87. Measure top of canopy and use inkbird controller to keep canopy 87. Anything above 87 trichomes will start to degrade so be careful once they pop. Keep ambient 84 or thereabouts. Led during lights on should easily add the extra 3 degree get your light close as possibly without heat stress. Plants can handle upwards of 1500 umol before growth starts to curve and 2000umols before they give a hoot. Manganese uptake drops significantly below 67 , looking to purple for color should be done during ripening when green growth is no longer a priority and terpene profile has been developed. Doing so when manganese is required most during flower will also contribute to limited growth. Rootzone growth will also be hindered by excessive cold. Although temperature/genes are primarily responsible for plants going purple. The photo receptors responsible for producing the pigment itself the one used to detect blues and uv. Plants use the energy emitted from those wavelengths to manufacture the "anyocins" the purple pigment. Good luck, I wish you all the very best in your journey. If you are insistent on colds, use a inkbird brewing stage timer to add a couple hours of sub 60 farenheight building slowly as you would resistance to any form of stress over weeks gently. Any new growth above 67 will just come back green anyway. Peace to you brother.

@Ultraviolet, ya my temp has been a little low for a few weeks in veg and something I didn't really have control over. it def stunted the growth. I could also probably next grow move the lights a little closer I decided but didn't know if I could go on and do that now since I've had it at this distance for the entire time. Thanks for taking the time to explain to me what you did.
