Potassium Excess?

Salokin
Salokinstarted grow question 3 years ago
I feel like it looks like a Potassium excess, causing a CalMag deficiency. Any thoughts from the communitys? Old leaves are dark green with brown spots. New foliage is in light green (potassium excess) and developing brown spots on the new foliage as well (CalMag deficiency?)

For me it's overfeed with n and calcium lockout because of that. Plus light is really close, then you have to maintain good Rh for best VPD, otherwise calcium issues ... You diagnosed deep, so I guess you know what to do in such cases. Wait for other opinions All the Best !!!

There is no sucha thing as ”CalMag deficiency” Looks like excessive K creates lockouts. As far as I see the brown spots does not have dark necrotic rounds(?) - So the yellowing/chlorosis and brown spots indicates to Magnesium deficiency. It’s all about the balance during the flowering as plants usually get more picky. Back off little with your bloom nutes and get a pure Magnesium source (Epsom salt, or Magnesium concentrates) DO NOT try to fix Magnesium deficiency with Cal/Mag supplements. Any excesive Ca antagonises Mg uptake even more.

Also forgot to mention that I keep the ph always at 6, +/- 0.1. This is checked twice a day and adjusted if needed.

I had already reduced N, as the LSD that I was growing was sensitive to it. I thought K excess because of the of the spots on the lower really dark green leafs and the lighter top leafs, also feel like the new leafs have slimmer blades. K excess can cause calcium, magnesium Zink and iron lock out I read somewhere. Which would the explain the spots on the top leaves, due to their immobility. Will take it a bit slower on the bloom nutes on the next water change tomorrow.

I don't see where your extra potassium would be coming from. a lot for the feeds your using are manufactured and solid products. from what I've read, the PH perfect sensi lineup does not need extra calcium or magnesium according to there manufactures web page. But if you add it in it will not hurt it. could bump it up to 1ml/l just be careful it has added N, check with your other additives to ensure not to mush is going in. Maybe just give it a bit more calmg and go from there. Only change one thing as a time and see if that works. it will take a day or so for you to see the results. Best of Luck!

I mean it’s either calcium deficiency or magnesium deficiency or calcium and magnesium deficiency. Or non of the above “Calmag deficiency “ is not really a thing. I know it’s semantics to some extent but just saying, it’s important to me to make that distinction for ppl. I see more calcium deficiency and tend to lean towards it being locked out by too much nitrogen.

@Salokin looks more likely a PH issue to me possibly locking out certain nutrients
