My white ash and rediculus smooth smoke prove everyone against a good flush are Wrong! I use Sledghammet at 1/2 teaspoon per gallon and use luke warm water to saturate root mass let it sit about half a hour then flush 2x the amount needed to saturate with plain luke warm water then 1 x the volume plain tap water then about half that much I run through senzazym to clean up leftovers and make them accessible to the plant to hold it over for a few days while root mass dries up then give her the proper feed for your scheadual

@AsNoriu I do appreciate that you pointed out the possible bias of this study. Do you have any criticism on the matter itself other than who paid for the research? It's always good to be aware of a possible bias but this is just very basic biology. If you do want to learn more about how nutrients work in higher plants like cannabis I can reccomend to read or skim the book "Marschner's Mineral Nutrition of Higher Plants" which should clear up any possible confusions you have about nutrients and flushing. ISBN: 978-0-12-384905-2 DOI: https://doi.org/10.1016/C2009-0-63043-9 Happy growing mate!

I am on the same page as Elodin. And you are a little too early. Plants don't really need extra nutrients in the last 2 weeks**. Your medium should contain enough so you can give water only. However, if you go full organic with living soil, you plant would receive nothing but plain water in the whole cycle and you don't have to do anything differently for the last phase of your grow. AsNoriu talks about test made by nutrients company, but Elodin really explains that most feeding chart do not require base nutrients in the last weeks.. if the comapany that seels you the products (exemple, see Canna feeding chart) tells you not to use it, they most know what they talk about right? A flush is giving 3-5 times the volume of your container in plain water to rinse off your medium. It should be done if ONLY you really fucked up your ph or ppm is way over. Finishing your grow by giving only water no nutrients just makes sense. Just water with no nutes, follow your usual watering schedule. Using any so-called flushing agent is a gimmick. ** When I talk about last 2 weeks, I assume you are doing a soil grow.

IMO flushing is just Bro-science with no proven benefit at all to the quality of the final product. RXGreenTechnologies for example did a study about flushing and found no benefit and taste test panelists actually preferred the flower that was not flushed. I suggest to read the study to learn more: > Impact of different flushing times on quality and taste in cannabis sativa l.- S. Wedryk, T. Wall & R. Bennet But where does the myth that flushing does something come from? It’s easy to explain! Many producers of fertilizers provide charts that say to not use fertilizer in the last week of flowering but that’s not due to “flushing out nutrients”. With organic fertilizers the fertilizer always needs to be applied time delayed. So if you feed your plant today those nutrients will only be available to your plant one - two weeks after that. Organisms in the soil need to convert it first into a usable form for your lady. So there’s no reason to give her any nutrients in the last week as it won’t be used by the plant. With salt based fertilizers there’s absolutely no reason to flush or stop giving nutrients as those are usable by the plant without needing to be converted first and the plant still needs nutrients in its last week. Anyways, your lady doesn’t look quite ready to me. I highly suggest to buy yourself a jewelers loupe with 10-20x magnification or even better some digital microscope in order to inspect the color of your trichome heads to better estimate maturity. Trichomes should, depending on personal preferences and the particular strain, be cloudy or to a certain degree of amber color. That’s how you can tell if your plant is ready. All the best and good Luck with your grow, mate!

She is far from flushing, give to ripe at least a bit, would say good 10 days more. Think you had issues or with proper food or with pH, girl is unhappy a bit and should be developed way better. Now for flush, read article , it has part Final flush, have a look. https://www.cocoforcannabis.com/when-and-how-to-flush/ All the Best !

Flushing is a process that takes between 7-14 days and is not something that can be achieved in one day. The principle behind "flushing" is to ensure any residual nutrient salts in the plants system are consumed/removed before harvest. All that is needed to achieve this is to give the plant plain water, nothing else, for the final few days before harvest. It does not involve running gallons and gallons of water through the pot in an imitation of a toilet. Just give normal amounts of plain water at normal frequency levels and the plant will do the rest. There is no need to drown your plant or flood the bejeezus out of your substrate, all that achieves is to stimulate hyper hydrated flowers that will/can be more suceptible to problems when drying, like bud rot. Going by your pictures, I would suggest you have another week or two before this plant is ready for a flush. Consider starting a flush when there are about 90-95% brown pistils and harvest 10 days later when there are about 95-98% brown pistils, which will coincide with about the "10-30% amber trichome" zone, which is the oft quoted "ideal" harvest time. Hope this helps, Organoman.
