Benzelsanswered grow question 3 years ago Theres a few things to consider here.
1. Strain/genetics... Sativas dont get really dense buds. So the more Sativa a strain is, the more "airy" the buds get. Thats why sativas are better for humidity issues as they have better air flow throu the buds so they dry out faster. In saying that ive seen some so called 70% pure sativas throw some pretty dense nugs but generally speaking more sativa = longer, more airy buds and more Indica =shorter fatter denser buds.
2. Light. More light = denser buds. It does. Dont argue. lols. Grow the same strain the exact same way under a 150W LED and then a 350W LED and you will see the massive diff in size and density.
3. Some people cheat and use plant hormones/artificial chems I wont even name so people cant look them up to artificially make the buds denser- This has the benefit of lowering the THC content by a large amount. (This is a bad thing...lmao) So you get massive heavy dense as a rock buds that are great for cash croppers, but the bud sucks. It tastes bad and hardly gets you high. So avoid this option at all costs as these chems also cause cancer.
4. See number 2 again.
Hope that helps.
