Plants flowering really slow

sacredgeometry

Is it normal for sativa dominant hybrids to flower this slow? I'm two weeks into flower and still only have 2 white pistils at the internodes.

As long as there are no light leaks and your not peeking in on her during her sleepy time then yeah its totally normal im afraid. it suuuucks!! My Caramelo is 70% Sativa and shes in same boat your girl is, I have heard that if you give any strain heaps of nitrogen at the wrong time (like now) it can mess with the flowering and the plants trys to grow a bunch of leaves instead... But I have never seen it personally or had it happen to me so its more bro science there. In saying that most veg boosters say very clearly not to use them in flower as they contain plant hormones to encourage veg growth...So as long as your not doing any of that- its normal as. when you switched did you go from say 18/6 right to 12/12 or did you give her 24-48 hrs of pure darkness in between?? Many pple, myself included, swear by turning the lights off for at least 24 hrs right up to 48 hrs and then go 12/12 after that. It forces them to flower faster-you can knock 3-4 days off easy with that trick. Dont worry, by week 3 it will look better.

Salivas take a few weeks more to get started and a few extra to rippen up that’s why a ooth high sativa contents Omar’s can go 13-16 weeks

I'm not sure, but you could check the VPD chart, take the temperature of the leaves, make an average from several leaves (center corners and box sides) and then the temperature and humidity of the box, make an average here too by measuring the temperature and humidity at the center side corners of the box / room / wardrobe. after that consult vpdchart.com and check your situation 🤷‍♂️🏻 you may have a vegetative vpd🤔 I hope it can be of help to you buddy! good luck

Yep, Sativas are notoriously slow to get flowering and to finish flowering too. If you have problems at the end to get them to finish, go to 11/13.

I don't think this is a bad thing, Just got to let it do its thing. Some plants take longer and they are stretching a lot, so that's a good sing they are going into flower. They also say sativa's will also take longer. I normally don't see pistils till a week or so into flip when I grew photoperiods, and most of the ones i grew where indica dominate. Good Luck!

It's a sativa dominate which will generally have a longer grow time. I have had auto go into a slow flowering stretching phase then just explode in buds. So it might not be a bad thing. 🤔🌱

@sacredgeometry by two weeks into flowering do you mean two weeks since you flipped to 12/12? Some plants especially sativa's can take weeks to transition into full flowering but as a precaution always check your timers are working correctly plus check for light leaks or anything that could disrupt the darkness at all.
