Benzelsanswered grow question 3 years ago Personally I just stop adding nutes 7-10 days before I plan to harvest and dont worry too much about flushing-and that "myth" about darkness boosting THC production has been bunked- you actually lose THC with too much darkness and as for tricomes-its been proven they are produced by the plant during the DAYLIGHT period- not during the darkness. So why you would want to leave your plant in the dark for a day or two after finally having that once and for all cleared up- I dont know.
Im sure some pple will fight me on this- but a well know cannabis plant biologist and professor just debunked those two recently so im sure it will start to filter down soon.
For yourself here- yeah flush em but dont go crazy and leave em another week and then harvest em anytime after that ok. And skip the Darkness- just do a heavy defol a day or two before you harvest and the stress from that will boost tricome and THC/resin production more than leaving it in the dark will. I actually harvest mine in stages- defol a few days before 1st harvest-then on 1st harvest I take all the top and main buds, and trim them up and 3 or 4 days later I take off the next layer of buds, and a few days later take off the lowest buds. This stress and added time does wonders for the lower buds and they swell up alot more than you would think. I leave the plants under the lights and just run plain water the whole time- I didnt flush either remember, I just stopped nutes 7 days before I did my defol and then just run water, keep em at 12/12 and harvest in layers. If you have 2 or more plants try both ways- chop one plant as you would normally, and try chopping one in layers as I suggested. The pop corn buds you would normally think are pretty meh, will be better on the one you layer harvested than the one you chopped the normal way.
