Benzelsanswered grow question 3 years ago Depends on the breeder. Any plant can hermie if the genetics are a mix of all kinds of garbage. Some breeder just throw pollen into a fan and hope for the best to get alot of seeds to sell.
others take the time to find good parents and produce less seeds but higher quality (and more expensive) seeds.
Basically there is still alot of genetics around and people who followed the "create feminized seeds by breeding with a hermie and a fem plant" school of breeding for a while before most switched to using a type of silver to create feminized seeds.
These genetics from when there were hermies being used on purpose to breed with are still floating around hidden deep in the genes of the plants. Some breeders take the time to eliminate these genetics from their breeding stock. Some do not.
if a plant has these genes hidden in the genetic code, then they only need to be triggered by a number of diff things that can cause the plant to hermie. Poor growing conditions, Too much stress from training or over feeding, while some seem to hermie no matter what you do if the genetics are bad enough.
Autos are still new to the game and the genetics are still not really stable yet, they are using 3 diff types of weed to cross breed and the results are less than stable. Fast Versions are a sub type of Autos that are still photoperiod plants but flower faster like an Auto flower. These seem to be more stable-more stable but still not fully stable yet either and may be worth a look too. Treat Autos well and they should be ok if you went to a good breeder. if u have poor quality seeds, then one mistake that stresses the plants out too much and they may all go hermie an u.
