Hey Gromwie, No, you don't have to trim the smaller sugar leaves, people get very detailed with their trimming, and really just a preference. No, they are just fine to smoke, especially if heavily covered with trichomes.

You don't have to but will likely make smoke harsher. You dried it way too fast I can tell you that. Slow dry keeps smell and terpins. Drying is 60°F and rh 60 percent. Indirect moving air. For next time. Final product will be higher quality.
