Barney's Jungle

So I've been to Amsterdam 3 times now, I am a true sativa fan and on each trip I've always loved to explore the variety of strains on offer. One strain in particular has always stood out and that was Laughing Buddha by Barney's Farm. Thanks to its 80% sativa 20% Indica it's been a perfect fit for me and nothing seems to compare to it for my personal enjoyment. So now I am growing these beautiful girls! This is my 2nd ever grow, my first grow was with 3 low yielding autos under the same 300w led I am now using in my seedling tent, I still managed to harvest 118g from the 3 plants which was great considering the lights true wattage is 127w! That's nearly 1.00g/w 🤫 Anyways this is the first ever run of photos I have done! Wish me luck and come along for the ride! I'm looking to do 6-8 week veg, 8 week flower! I will post once a week, every Wednesday! Feeding just ph'd water for first 7 days then adding very small amount of grow and micro nutes and calmag. Day 7 - feeding approx 250ml to each plant with 1ml/l of grow, micro and calmag.

Okay I've decided to make 1 diary to cover my whole grow as I am growing 9 plants, 4 different strains! 5 X laughing Buddha, 1 X cookies kush, 2 X Jack herer and 1 X zkittlez OG auto! :) I will try and keep you guys and gals posted! So far I messed up on giving nutrients too early, gave 1ml/l feed and showing slight nute burn, nothing to worry about as new growth is coming through nice and healthy! My mistake! Will be feeding them every 2-3 days as I find this works best with Coco, gonna do 1 or 2 more feeds of just water before adding nutes again to make sure they have cleared! I have not germinated each strain at the same time, cookies kush and laughing Buddha are same age but Jack herer has just been germinated and zkittlez is only on first week. I hope this all goes well! Fingers crossed.

Wow what a stressful week it has been, not only is it my first time using HPS but it is also my first time transplanting, now I'm super worried that I have damaged the roots and messed everything up, 1 at the top left looked droopy before transplanting but hasn't changed after 2 days being in new bigger fabric pot. Hmmm. Slightly worried but maybe I'm being too paranoid and not giving my girls time. I also had to move my babies into the flower tent way too early than I would of liked! I was hoping to keep them in veg tent for at least 4 weeks but the pots were too small for them and there roots were showing at bottom. So I transplanted early and am now running on an 18/6 schedule using 600w HPS, I gotta admit it is powerful and I spent all night trying to correct the temps! Holy moly this thing runs like the sun! I was pushing 31 degrees!!!! Now things are starting to tune in and now sitting at 26/27 degrees. Had to use extractor fan as intake instead to cool things down, will need to purchase extractor fan and definitely an internal rotating fan! Such an expensive hobby at the start but all worth it in the end 😂 sorry I haven't posted much, so busy trying to get all sorted! Day 21 - okay now we're moving, nice steady growth and my temps are all sorted, perfect temps when lights are off, averaging about 17/18 degrees. My Jack herer seeds did not germinated so removing strain from diary, I got them from aseed bank and not direct but maybe I just had bad luck. I got a pineapple chunk which has germinated so I have planted that one today. I have also got an LSD seed from Barney's Farm (given to me as a valentine's Day present) I've just started germination process today so hopefully that pops in the next couple of days! And yes I know she's a keeper!

Day 23 - all of them are looking better, nice healthy green coming through, they are all pretty sensitive to the nutes I'm going easy on that! But they definitely need a lot of calmag! 😊 The humidity has been really high in the tent during lights off, this is because I had to use the extraction fan as intake to control temps. Once I get another fan for extraction by the end of this month the humidity will be corrected! I have now planted pineapple chunk, took 4 days to show tap root! Not 100% confident in that one at the moment. I she also germinated LSD which is showing tap root after 24 hours and will be planted tonight! Will update when I can! Day 25 - cleaning tent today to prevent any molds or other unwanted stuff! Humidity has been very high because of not having extraction fan, payday couldn't come soon enough! Left tent open today as it's a hot day, humidity and temps are stable. New healthy growth coming through so I think I have found the right amount of nutes to give them! Surprising very sensitive to even small amounts of nutes! PH has been kept between 6.5 & 7.2. another 2-3 weeks of vegging! Hopefully I can make the switch at week 7!

Day 28 - well it's the beginning of week 5 and I have now got the nutes finally tuned for my girls, all of them are looking gorgeous, nice green and healthy ✊ showing some great growth this week and the new growth just keeps on coming, I think another 2-3 weeks vegging and then its time to make the switch and see the stretch 😎 laughing buddhas are doing so well, considering a few were running slow at the start but they always catch up! Zkittlez OG auto at the top right is coming along nicely, currently week 4 of vegging for that girl, cookies kush at the top left is also doing well, showed some yellow leafing but managed to recover nicely. Also the HPS coverage is perfect for this tent, was using LED before which yes if far cheaper to run but I can already picture great results for these 😍 fingers crossed! Day 31 - I'm going with a sea of green and scrog method but without topping, I want these girls to grow out naturally but I can now organise the bud sites thanks to the scrog net, I will be putting the net in in week 7 if all goes well. Changed water amount to 1.25 litres, saw some nute burn so going a little easier on the nutes, will feed just Ph'd water in next feed in 2 days time. Thanks for tuning in! 😎 Day 32 - lower d the HP's light to about 60cm above to help with growth, lowered scrog net as well. Bud sites are starting to show, will organise them when ready. Switching to 12/12 on week 8. Found silver tails in Coco, must be watering too often, will let Coco dry out - not showing any damage to the plants as of yet. Hopefully drying out Coco will get rid of them.

Day 36 - not much to say, the growth is going nice and steady and now at 30cm tall, slowly reaching to the net and the bud sites are starting to branch. I will organise them loosely in the net just for added stability, may need to adjust the net to follow the stretch phase at flower. Really happy so far with these seeds, super healthy no complaints! Stems are getting fatter every day. Watering approx 1 litre every 2-3 days and they are loving it. The jungle has begun! Can't wait to see how much the stretch in size, will be making the flip to flower on week 8. 😎 I have a feeling it's gonna be lit 🔥 Kinda wish I started my LSD and Pineapple chunk at the same time but they have no choice but to go into early flower! Still have high hopes for them though. Did some light defoliation near the bottom of each plant, got rid of old fan leaves and branches - trying to minimise as much popcorn as possible 🍿 Lsd and pineapple chunk are a week old now. Day 37 - well judging from how much they have been growing each week, I think I might flip them to flower next week - I feel the time is right! Also these girls are in 3 gallon pots so getting them to flower soon is better, as I don't want them to end up root bound. Maybe next time I will try 5 gallon pots, but do far had no issues. Day 38 - well I think it's time to see the stretch and let's these girls flourish, made the switch to 12/12 today. Let's rock 😎🔥 nearing the end of week 6, I feel like 38, days of veg has been enough for these.

Week 7 - day 43 Well what can I say these girls have made it to week 7 and are now on 12/12 for flowering, yes that also includes the zkittlez OG auto and my little babies at the front, I wanna see how they do on 12/12 for the rest of there growth 😁 overall each of them look amazingly healthy, nice thick stem, pistils already showing on a few and the auto has blown up with pistils! I can already tell these genetics are set to high standards! There now starting the stretch phase and hopefully in the next couple of weeks we will start noticing some beautiful buds 😍 I have started feeding 2litres every 2-4 days depending, I'm really starting to connect with my girls and know exactly when they need feeding, I have tried to nurture them as best I can! And hopefully this will all pay off 😃 Humidity has been a little high lately, will try my best to lower this over the weekend, added a dehumidifier into the tent which really helps, the humidity seems to only rise when lights off, lights on it sites between 50-60% Going to book in some free time at the weekend to really do a nice defoliation on these, don't want to do too much though but definitely removing some of the fan leaves and popcorn sites on the lower parts of the plant 😎 the jungle has really taken shape now, I will try to keep you all updated! Thanks for tuning in and as always happy growing!! 180319 - well I did a little defoliation at the bottom of the plants to allow for better air circulation below and to get rid of popcorn branches and shaded fan leaves. I have also added the scrog net back and I am now arranging flower sites. Laughing buddhas took several days before showing any pistils but they are now coming through nicely which means it knows to flower!!! 😂 The humidity is still an issue when lights are off, the reason being is because the tent is getting too cold and therefore the humidity raises - for payday I will purchase a small portable heater and hopefully make room for it in the tent! I also left my girls unwatered for 4 days on purpose, this is the longest I have waited without watering but there were some springtail pests in the soil, although these don't do much harm to the plants I wanted to rid them as soon as possible and the easiest way is to dry out the environment as water and moisture is what they are attracted to. Looking forward to the next 2 months of flower!!!

Week 8 - day 50! Day 8 of flower. All of them are still going on strong! Loving there feed and no complaints whatsoever! Gonna raise the light over the weekend as it's a little too close for my liking, girls don't seem to mind! This is definitely a jungle 😂 Getting a heater when I'm paid to keep humidity low during lights off, lights on the humidity sits around 55% which is perfect but lights off it's getting far too high! Don't want to put in all the effort only to let mold ruin my entire crop! I will also get another fan, they need plenty of air circulation because they are all so close together! The flowers are starting to come through the scrog now, each of them are beginning to stretch too! Exciting times ahead! Feeding 2 litres every 2-4 days! I'm really impressed with these 3 gallon fabric pots too! I just hope the roots don't get root bound!!! They seem to be doing fine so far 😁 Happy growing guys and gals! The buds are coming!! Day 56 - video upload, looks pretty beautiful 😍

Day 57 Day 15 flower - what can I say? No issues reported so far, did some more defoliation below the scrog and tidied up some of the flower sites, removed a few of the old fan leaves and checked on Zkittlez OG, she is frosty already and starting to look really sparkly and beautiful 💎😍 The others are also showing some frost and bud development is going well!! Exciting times ahead! 290319 day 59 flower day 17 - no issues apart from slight heat stress for the girl in the middle, will adjust the light tomorrow to ease the stress. Bud candy just arrived so I will add 1ml/l on next feed tomorrow morning! Overall the bud sites have came through in numbers and are looking very strong and healthy, OG Zkittlez auto has turned into diamonds of trichomes and the others are following suite 😍 more updates to come! Hopefully skittlez is finished in the next 3 weeks! Also added a rotating flow to get good air flow in the tent, there were some dead spots. 020419 day 63 flower day 21

030419 - week 10 slight nute burn after adding bud candy to there feed so I have decreased bloom and cal mag. There all still look nice and healthy and humidity has been keeping a nice stable 50-60% which is good. Will clear the bottom leaves when I get time as well. Zkittlez OG will be the first to leave this tent, that's gonna be a fun task! I should not of placed her at the very back haha! Laughing Buddha and cookies Kush are starting to frost up, smelling like real dank! Fed them today, they seem to like being fed every 3-4 days which is good. Bring on harvest day, patience is key 070419 day 68 flower day 26 - now watering every 2 days as these girls are super thirsty! Now using 2ml/l bloom 1.5ml/l bud candy and 1ml/l calmag.

100419Day 70 flower 28 - switched fully to bloom nutes now and they are all starting to slowly fatten up, they are all turning lovely and frosty and the size of laughing Buddha on the middle is crazy, she is my monster 👌😁 140419 - changed feed to 2.5ml/l bloom 1.5ml/l bud candy and 1ml/l Calmag, half way through flowering and leaves are starting to turn yellow, don't think I have added enough bloom therefore lack of nitrogen in the soil. Buds are increasing in size however. 150419 - I think zkilltez of will be ready soon, trichomes are cloudy with a few amber , began 10 day flush today feeding 4 litres of 7.0 pH water every day now till the 25th which will be harvest day 😎

170419 week 12 flower week 6 - okay so I thought Zkittlez OG was ready in the next week but after examining trichomes again there are still a lot clear, because she is an Auto on 12/12 she is gonna take longer than usual and with less yield, she is still carrying a lot of dense looking nugs but I know under 18/6 she would of blown up!! my plan now is for this to be the final week of feeding nutrients and then the next 2 weeks will be just 7.0ph water. I want the girls to start taking in what they need from there fan leaves etc 🍁 It’s been hard gettting up close to the girls at the back to see how far they are from harvest and I can’t rely on breeder flower times as they aren’t that accurate, I think I will harvest laughing Buddha on week 15, cookies kush and zkittlez og on week 14. So far I have been very impressed with the quality of these strains, cookies kush has a baker type of smell reminds me of cookie dough, laughing Buddha has a very citrus like smell and Zkittlez OG smells of berries! Haven’t had any major issues throughout the whole grow cycle which is an achievement for me but I always find the last few weeks the hardest as I can never tell when to harvest 😂 Day 77 flower day 35

Been super busy these past 2 weeks so haven’t had chance to update diary and upload new photos sorry!!!

Well I have finally harvested Zkittlez OG and dried for 10 days, now curing for 2 weeks 👌🏻 Overall this plant did very well considering it is an Auto and that I put her under 12/12, sadly a lot of the buds are airy because of this, mainly near the bottom of the plant which I will use to make edibles etc however the buds at top are a lot more compact, not solid but a lot better that the others. All of them are completely covered in crystals, this plant would be great if you are wanting to make concentrates ✊🏻 Dry weight is coming soon once I get chance 😂 smells like berries, will update smell and taste after cure0

Currently drying and curing will update after, some really nice dense nugs so happy all round 😁
