Do you poke holes in ur seedling dome cups?

When using plastic cups to dome seedlings (never have so just curious) do you poke holes in the cup for ventilation? I’m aware the point is to help increase humidity during early stages which I’d like, but do they need vent holes?

They don't need humidity domes, they are not rainforest plants! They need good air exchange to grow properly and a bit of air movement to strengthen the stem. Humidity domes is an outdated notion from the 1960s when no one knew anything much about cannabis and thought it came out of jungles. Unfortunately this idea has persisted, needlessly, until the present day. I have never in close to 40 years, ever grown seedlings in humidity domes and firmly believe they are absolutely not needed. Only cuttings/clones need humidity domes.

I’ve wondered this also it seems to be very popular , i get that seedlings need humidity but I heaps prefer to use a heat mat with a well draining pot rather than stewing baby root systems in its own juices , I like to draw the roots down looking for that heat and food .

I do. 3 1/8th inch holes. Still keeps moisture inside as far as I can tell.
