Soil PH LEVEL for growing medium

I have germinated my seeds and I am planning to use soil for my growing medium. What is the best ph level for the soil? I have soaked the soil into the water for about 30mins and I corrected the phlevel by using PH⬇️ & PH⬆️Liquid. they are now in 5.87ph. Am I doing it correctly?

On a side note the pH range for soil is 6,2 to 7,3 ; 5,8 is within the range for hydro culture not soil. Like Cold farmer said soil is known to buffer pH to a certain extent on it's own Finally soaking the soil wash it from a part of it's nutrient and you will experience deficiencies faster in the plant life cycle wich you don't really want.

If your using soil I recommend mixing in 1/4 perlite to help with getting oxygen to the roots. When you first start watering only water a small circle around the plant to make sure air can get at the roots.

I really don't understand what it is you're doing here... I assume you've germinated your seeds in water or wet paper towels or something... just plant them in your soil and give them just a bit of water. At this point, you really don't have to worry about ph levels! In a couple of days or when the soil has dried completely, you can give a little more water making sure your water is somewhere around 6.5-6.8ph which is ideal for all stages of growth. Don't add any nutes until they're about 1.5-2 weeks old (some say even later). Good luck!

With soil, a pH of anywhere between 6.2 and 7.2 is just fine. If you have soaked all your soil in water, you will have to get new soil, as you have probably killed all the microbial life in it, which the plant relies upon, as well as leaching all the nutrients from it, meaning it will not be very good for growing any more. Any quality commercially made potting soil should be just fine for your gardening exploits without the need to change or worry about the pH levels as it was stabilized during manufacture to an ideal level for most garden plants. Just don't get an "acidic" mix designed for azaleas or camellias, it will be too acidic for cannabis. Mandala Seeds have an excellent "grow guides" section on their home page that will give you a lot of information about soil growing, far more than I could write in this brief answer. I highly recommend you check it out, it is excellent reading! Hope this helps, Organoman.

You only need an exact pH value for a hydro culture. Normal earth can regulate the value to a certain extent on its own. When you water (drown) the earth, you kill the living cultures within. You should only upgrade soil with compost and biological content at the beginning. Anything else does more harm than good.
