Light strength

Valleywestbuds
Valleywestbudsstarted grow question 3 years ago
2 of my autos have been harvested and now I just have 1 mature plant mid flower and I've started my 3 other seedlings. I've got a tsw 2000 w/310 wts. Should I keep my lights at 100% for maximum growth or should I back off a touch to say 75 or 80%?

As long as my vpd is somewhat in range, i watch what the leaves are doing. If they are droopy and look overwatered (they arent) then i got too much photons. Turn the light down a bit and if the leaves start to pray for light then you know your in the right area. I almost never have my lights at 100. I have the mars tsw 3000 in a 4 x 4 tent its way overkill. Check out my diary and you can see how the leaves react when you turn it down

I second Golden Growmie’s plan of action. Realistically they should be farthest from your lights ( corners). As they mature move them closer ( exactly what GG is saying, but I don’t believe you have the tools to measure this - neither do I to measure par, so no shade being thrown)

Imho you can keep your lights on 100% but keep them away from the seedlings at least 1.5 meters. Try putting a hand over the little ones, if they feel too hot move the lights away above.

100% is oki if you have enough distance between the light and seedlings.
