I have niece banner auto . How big of a hole should I dig also would a 5 gallon bucket with drainage work if need be ? Gonna use 50 percent happy frog diet and 50 percent cattle stall dirt compost . Looking to learn

Add more perlite to your mix. Especially in a potter. Autos can surfice in a 3 or 4 gallon.

Ich würde sie in den Topf pflanzen, nicht direkt in die Erde. So lässt sich die Drainage und Fütterung deutlich besser steuern. Zur Drainage sollte die Erde etwa 10% Perlite enthalten. Um das ganze Luftiger zu gestalten kannst du auch kokosfasern hinzufügen.
Ich weiß offen gesagt nicht , was" happy frog diet " ist, Stallmist ist meist eher Stickstoffhaltiger Dünger. Wenig Phosphor und kalium, was du vielleicht für die Blüte bedenken solltest 🤓👍

Since you are not using pots, you should dig a hole for like 20-25liters of ground.
Some other advice; Autoflowers love airy soil, some cocopeat or perlite will be a good outcome.
if you can spare the money, you should buy a bag.
If you want to use that 5 gallon bucket which is like 18Liters, it would be enough yes.
