The University of California at San Diego have discovered the mechanism that controls the stomata of a plant. The two cells that make up the stomata are specialized cells (guard cells), granted according to the frequency of calcium resonance. When exposed to this frequency, the stomata close. However, if the frequency is not exactly the correct, the cells will open again within an hour. This occurs even if the calcium concentration is sufficient to normally close the stomata. Experiments have shown that high tones are more or less directly responsible for an increase in gas exchange that lasts more than an hour.

Some low level experiments have been made about music and plants where they seemed to respond well to white noise based music like heavy metal. Mythbusters for example, and a couple of other teams have pulled it off. There are also evidence of response to ultra sound, and perhaps even communication in that spectrum. But I don't know, all sorts of claims, I have played Bob Marley for some plants once, I doubt it did anything more than satisfy my own soul tho 😊

I don't understand tucking fan leaves to give bud sites more light. Shouldn't it be the opposite?Advice seems to be to tuck fan leaves so bud sites get more light.
