leaf tips #2

Hi, continuing the previous question. pH runoff was 6.1 So I decided not to flush and gave it CalMag. Since then yellow tips doesn't spread any further, but the fan leaves on lower branches become fully yellow and died. Does that mean problem is getting bigger and I should flush?

hey there Rawsome, the yellowing of the leafs at the bottom is a nitrogen-related symptom, when the plant has too much nitrogen it can "lock out" meaning it stops absorbing it through the roots and starts cannabalising itself. You can tell it's nitrogren excess from the "too dark green" and "shiny" aspect of the leafs as well as the burnt tips. right now you're giving three additives, two of which contain N. You should be giving one NPK, one cal mag and one additive. Try to cut out all the additives except zym. Enzymes will help break down the excess N. The bad news is that lock out is quite a hard thing to fix, so the problem will get worse for 5 days to a week before it gets better. Keep a cool head , follow the plan, maybe try a flush if you like. Hope this helps ! 🚀

Hi there just had a scan through your diary, with an auto you can probably get away with just using the root supplements for the 1st 3 weeks when grown in soil. Autoflowers aren't heavy feeders normally and you may have started pushing to many nutes around the week 5 to 6 period of the grow. As I'm not familiar with your products I can't recommend how much to use but I find 1st feeds around week 3 to 4 period at 1/4 strength. Don't really get to full strength of the bottles recommendations.

Thanks, Granny. I have a pretty good pH meter, but still feel like its not super accurate and pH can be a bit lower (6.0) Also, just in case, when I can start feeding again after the flush? And the last one, what do you think of the leaf on the second photo?

No - you don't have to flush... 6.1 is great although you might want to take it a touch higher to 6.3 if possible. The older leaves down at the bottom will yellow and fall off as they age (I usually trim them off because I think a plant likes to LOOK good and they're not doing anything to benefit the plant at all). Good job!
