If my trichomes look like the plant is ready for harvest does it matter at all if the hairs are half and half in color? Looking through jewelers loupe I see touches of clear and there right amount of amber.

It depends on what kind of high you want. If you harvest early when there are maybe 10-20% brown hairs, you get a more actieve high. when the hairs are like 80% brown you get a nice balanced high and when they are 100% brown and the buds are little overriped, you get a real strong sleepy high. If you grow like a haze sativa you really want to get that early harvest to get that actieve high or it doesn't make any sence haha because most of the times indicas are like the sleepy ones. But again you can harvest a indica earlyer as well to make sure you don't have that heavy sleepy high. What you really should look at is at the THC, get yourself, if you dont have one yet, a microscope. When like most of the THC (Thricromes) are looking milky instead of crystal, your THC is ready. if you have some brown thricromes don't worry but don't get to many of thoose, They will be more of thoose in time. When not having a microscope, just wait until the hairs get like 80% brown :) Goodluck :)

There should be no clear trichomes. Only milky and amber.

Hi, it looks like it could do with a few more days, by looking at your photos but if there are some amber showing? make sure its not on the leaf, or parts in direct light, always turns amber alot earlier. I'd watch it closely and give it another week. Hope this helps. Happy growing

Honestly it depends on what effects you’re looking to get out of the plant. Generally, the longer you let it go, the more/stronger narcotic effect you get. As far as the trichomes, they start clear, then turn milky and then turn amber (or other colors) so if they’re still clear then you probably want to wait until they’re mostly milky. Waiting/knowing when to harvest is always difficult but when they’re ready they start showing more “fall” colors on the leaves (also known as fading). Some of the best advice I got when I first started growing was, “When you think it’s ready, wait a week”. It was hard but good advice and I’ve found it to be true more often than not. When I’ve rushed and harvested early I’ve found that there’s more of a risk for “side effects” such as dry mouth. Hope this helps you to make your decision. Best of luck and happy growing!! ☮️💜😮‍💨😮‍💨
