if you can extend drying times to 7-14 days, it's probably the "right" temperature. some terps that add flavor and aroma can evaporate quickly at fairly low temps. (evaporation is always occurring, even below boiling point... want an example? go look at an icecube tray 2-3 months after you put it in freezer. the cubes don't get smaller through magic... in this case it is called "sublimation" and not evaporation, but same damn concept, really... 'constantly striving for equilibrium with environment') you know it's too warm or too dry if it is bone dry in 2-3 days... this will impact the buds in a noticeable way, ime. i've had some dry in 4-5 days that tasted no different than a slower dry. So... your mileage may vary. you can almost fee a difference in the plant material when it dries fast... pop a bud on a radiator or something and come back in a few hours, you'll see what i mean. it even breaks up differently. as slow as you can go without growing microbes...

Edit, Humidity to 55. not 50 if you cant keep the temp's down. 50 is a bit low. Like NobodysBuds said you want to dry in 7-14 days. The slower the dry the less harsh and better smelling it will be.

Stay below 70F and if you can keep your humidity at 60 and in a dark area. Light is bad. high temps are bad and low humidity is bad. If you cant keep it below 70F I would consider lowering humidity to 50 to avoid rot. But your smoke will be harsher and not smell as nice.

gottagrowsometime as for keeping the evoporation to a minimum you cant beat a fridge at 4-5C as long as the rh is stable at 60% or similar which takes a little work. personally i dont use this technique but i’ve discussed it with people who have been doing this over several platforms and they are very happy with the results. i’m thinking of giving it a go in the future as well but need to buy a fridge for it so for now i dry in a hotter and drier room sadly. so in that same spirit of preserving terpenes, as cold as you can get while keeping the other parameters in an ideal range doesnt sound bad to me. does it sound bad to you?

gottagrowsometime do some research on the subject if youre gonna try to dispute it and dont put words in my mouth ok? fyi you dont have to dry plants whole that doesnt add anything to the process doesnt make better quality or something it just extends the drying period and helps the buds keep their shapes but in a controlled environment you dont need to extend drying period. hanging individual colas inside a fridge is just fine for that purpose and people have been doing it for years.

Hey crimson, just reading what I wrote. Didn't mean to come off as rude. Ppl have dif ways of doing things. When I get my AC unit I'll try a plant on cold temps. Have a good 1 bro. Hope you got your answer pal. There many ways to do it just try stay under 20c to stop any evaporation. Good luck.

You want to dry your buds slow in a dark room. 60F/60RH. Have a fan for circulation but not in direct contact of the harvested product. Cheers!

I agree with you, cold is best. But 20c is fine. Anything above 25c not good. 50-60rh anyways everyone has their own ways. So each to his own.

What. NO, not as cold. Start off at 20c and after 2 or 3 days you can let the temp drop to 17-18 to prolong the drying time. Also water an hour or 2 before you harvest to prolong drying time. RH is fine between 50-60% anything under or close to 20c you can do the whole grow but it'll dry a lil quicker. Recommend you hang dry your plant whole also, don't have fans blowing straight onto the plant neither just decent air exchange around the plant is fine. And if possible try dry it in a dark place all the way through Good luck.

as cold as you can get without freezing while keeping a reasonable rh (60%)
