to top or not to top, that's the question

My plants are in week three. They're auto flowers, now 40 à 45 cm height. They get 16 hours of LED light a day. Looks like they are already starting to bloom because some hairs are becoming visible. My question is, shall I top them? Or wait a bit longer? (or don't top?)

White color is MUCH better than tin foil(aluminum), like 300% better! Also, no training after flowering start.

Sure... go ahead and top them if you want to destroy your grow. Sorry... sometimes I let my sarcasm get out of control and I shouldn't... Autoflowers DO NOT LIKE TO BE TOPPED!!!!!! Some people have gotten away with it but only in the VERY early stages of veg growth - certainly NEVER when they are in pre-flower, never mind flower! Your grow looks very, very good - the ONLY thing I would tell you to do is to give them a LOT more light. Autoflowers can/do grow with reduced light - even 12/12 - but their performance is greatly diminished. All my autos (and they're all I grow) get 24 hours of light a day unless I'm growing outdoors - and even then, I'll bring them into a tent at night so they can still get their 24 hours (until they get too big for the tent - which they tend to do when grown outdoors!). Most folks will grow autos under 18/6 or 20/4 lights.... More light will simply make your plants bigger, stronger and give you a MUCH better harvest. There. That's my two cents. DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT TOPPING THEM!!!! :-D

Do not top autos. They do not have enough time to recover. I recommend using lst to help increase yield. Good luck and happy growing 🌱

Topping Autos is usually not recommended... But if you have to then rather sooner than later. I would recommend some LST or even HST since it isnt that stressful for the Plant like Topping.
