My last grow 2 plants turned hermaphrodite. How did this happen? How stressful is trimming fan leaves that block bud sites. I can't think of anything else I did that stressed them. Canuk tropicanna glookies

https://www.cocoforcannabis.com/community/photons_corner/to-defoliate-or-not-to-defoliate/ flowers are not solar panels. you'd be best off leaving as many as possible. buds get larfy the further you go down below canopy. some of that can be mitigated by removing a leaf or two, but you can't put lipstick on a pig. some gentics will be tight buds deep, others will never be that way defo is usually overdone.. probably not the reason it hermied, but if it was it means it was shit genetics that herms at the drop of a hat. light pollution -- anything strong enough that you can still make out the letters in a book. that's too much light accoring to recent studies done by bugbee. 7 nanomoles/s? i think was the gist. (micro = 10^-6 and nano is 10^-9) if healthy otherwise, it's probably just crap genetics. if the plant looked like shit, don't blame the genetics.

When I know my plant is stressed I hit them with Switch, it keeps them staying fem. I'm not sure about how stressful trimming is, but I wouldn't think much at all. You can always tuck instead of cut too.

light leaks are the no1 cause of herms keep all vents closed when the plant is in its night cycle in flower. Veg is not too bad but in flower it needs to be pitch black.
