Deformed, very thin leaves

Little_Pot
Little_Potstarted grow question 2 years ago
Almost all new leaves are extremely thin on base. On some nodes only 1 finger is developed. Some new leaves curl down like claws. I suppose these leaves developed from baby leaves burned by alcohol spray week ago. But maybe it is smthg else? Should I maybe cut them off?

This seems to be a reoccurring theme on this grow, sorry to see it is not yet solved. Given your updated info from the previous question with this same problem we can almost certainly rule out that it is from any pests above ground as the sprays on the plants have been applied and the traps to catch them are empty. I am going to say the same thing as last time, I think this is a weird mutation of the plant caused by something in the root zone, Maybe PH, maybe fungal, maybe root aphids, maybe soil compaction and maybe overwatering... Or maybe a combination of multiple things listed above. I do not think it is pest in the canopy area, and I do not think it is going to get better the more you spray them. I would stop spraying them all together unless you see pests in the grow room. a preventive spraying/watering of BTi once a month/week is ok but only on lights off. Are you noticing anything weird in the medium? is it draining well? Does it have a weird smell? If you dig into a small part of the pot, are the roots crisp and breaking like small threads or are they soggy and soft like over cooked pasta? Are you monitoring your PH? or using any PH adjusters like ph up/ph down or any other acids/bases for a DIY perspective in this grow? If you have any runoff are you noticing anything strange from it? Do you have a TDS pen to test it for its EC or PPM count? Also where did you get these seeds? Bag seed? From a breeder? What breeder was it? Lot of questions and a few answers I bet that will help us find the real solution. Please reply back to this. Thanks for the answers. The PH is a bit low for soil at 6 with nothing added in. One thing you can try is to bump it up to 6.5. Biobizz does not work well in a PH below 6.2 this might be part of the bigger solution. It would also be good to know the EC and PH of you feeding solution and how often you are feeding them. There is a chance these are just bad seeds but best we try and look at all other options first. Cheers,

Are you noticing anything weird in the medium? - no, soil looks good is it draining well? - I suppose yes, if I water to much, I see runoff. I have 11l pot, and watering it with 2l water I get some runoff Does it have a weird smell? - no, soil smells good, organic, no strange smells If you dig into a small part of the pot, are the roots crisp and breaking like small threads or are they soggy and soft like over cooked pasta? - I did not dig to the bottom, but in the top third the roots are thin white threads, easy to break. Definitely not soggy Are you monitoring your PH? or using any PH adjusters like ph up/ph down or any other acids/bases for a DIY perspective in this grow? - measured my water today: PH 6 and TDS 200 EC. Used no PH regulators If you have any runoff are you noticing anything strange from it? Do you have a TDS pen to test it for its EC or PPM count? - I will water the girls tomorrow and measure EC of runoff Also where did you get these seeds? Bag seed? From a breeder? What breeder was it? - I got them from Dutch-Headshop. I think the seeds are not of good quality. From 4 seeds 1 died, 1 took 2 weeks for seedlings, and 2 are actually growing.

You need to flush the soil and after flushing let the soil dry out completely. You can do this flushing by slowly pour water pH 6.2 onto the top of the soil, allowing it to drain freely from the bottom of the pot. Pour slowly, so the water doesn't overflow from the top of the pot. Use approximately four times the pot's volume in water to flush the soil. For example, use 1 gallon of water for a 1 quart pot. Like I said when you have done this let the top layer (5cm) of the soil dry out completely and after only water half of your pot each time. When the top layer (2-3cm) of this half is dry then water the other half of the pot. This way you make sure that there is enough water with nutrients and oxygen available for the roots. So not cut anything yet just see how she will react when you di this. Then you can ask me again next week. You can also send me a private message when you have questions! Happy Growing! 😋

Hey 123Grow. Light is Mars Hydro TS 600, and the distance is 45cm. I do not think this happens because of light, because lower new leaves are damaged the same as top ones. The soil is really dry, I watered her 1 week ago, and the pot is really light I’m comparison to watered one. M0use, thanks for lot of questions, I got PH and TDS pens, and write later about my findings

1. What’s the light intensity and what’s the distance from said light? 2. Leaves curling down is a pre-emptive sign of overwatering I believe it’s one of the two or combination of both
