Grower's Questions Question

Well, to be honest, there have been a couple of them... I think if folks really want to help the growers asking questions, and they disagree with an answer that's been given, instead of disparaging the other answer they should simply state their point of view, their advice... It's really all in how you word thinigs... because there is rarely ONE answer to a question... But listen, if you really want to help growers, then help them and answer their questions! You can always withdraw from the competition if you find yourself actually entered... at this point, though, no one has selected one of your answers as the one they think is the right one and the advice they're going to follow... so you're not in the competition... and it ends on the 31st anyway... so please, come respectfully answer some growers questions!

It wasn't anything nasty, let me be clear about that, I try to calm things down. One user commented that it gets heated because of the contest. I pointed out that I'm not in it, I'm just trying to help. A different user commented that the point of answering these questions IS the contest. I'd hope the purpose would be to help each other, you know, community. But if it is the contest, mercenary, I'll stay out. First, I'd not want to interfere with someone trying to win something I've no interest in. Second, I'd prefer to stay away discussions driven by gain. Not my thing.

I'd be interested, btw, to know what the comment was that led you to that erroneous belief... I'm sorry someone would say ANYTHING that would prevent you from answering questions...

No, you're completely wrong about that, @greatwolf! Everybody who is on GD is allowed to answer questions!! EVERYBODY!!! And what's really odd is that you don't even have to sign up for this particular contest... you are automatically entered into it if you answer a question that is linked to a diary and your answer is chosen by the inquirer... I answered questions for months before I realized I was actually IN the contest! So please, answer away!!
