Afghan Sperm Banana

Afghani #1 - No photo but I have just found a single male flower, a small yellow banana shaped thing that puffed out a little cloud of pollen when I poked it. I think this means its time to harvest before it decides to start putting energy into seed.

The plant in above photo is about 7-10days overgrown imo...reason why I think this is the lengthy foxtail on the top that is incheslonger than the main bud...leaving them this long will weaken the smokes THC so that all you really get is a thwack in the head stoning, dry mouth and eyes and sometimes even couch lock although that mostly happens for big bad ass Indicas (Indica- In Da Couch). In short I wouldn't leave it this long, it will stop the plants getting to a stage where they feel they need to produce bananas to complete their life cycle and create seeds. Its a sign of stress or the stress of reaching the end of its natural cycle. Have you got any Macro pics so we can see the Thrichomes? My guess is they are around 80% amber...maybe even more...another sign it has been left too long. I really hope that helps and wish you the stickiest of buds!

Good plan on chopping this plant. Given that it has made pollen it will prevent it from making seeds by end it. I also agree with the conscientious that this plant is past due, and it would make sense why the pollen has formed as that is a natural response from the plant. Best Of Luck with the rest of the grow!

Thanks guys. The amber trichomes are only up to 3% ish, most are cloudy, then a good amount clear too but smelling really nice. I'm going to chop this tomorrow and get it trimmed up and hung to dry.

I'd say she's ready for harvest based on the pictures and due to the fact that she's trying to self pollinate.
