Been topping autos forever and they all turn out great. Likely its genetics. The largest autoflower I have ever had, I topped 4 times within 10 days and the canopy during flower took up my whole 3x3. That being said I don't top anymore because Indica's are generally short and bushy anyways. Plant looks healthy so I am going to go with you got a bad roll of the dice. The good thing about photos is that they can be cloned and you know what you are gonna get. Autos, well they are like a box of chocolates. I do love autos though.

Major stress from growing for weeks at 24/0 is the problem! All plants, autoflowering cannabis included, NEED sleep to finish its photosynthesis cycle and have a correctly functioning metabolism. A plant with an incorrectly functioning metabolism will NEVER grow to its best potential. Without sleep, some plants will just grow and grow and grow without flowering because they can't tell what is going on, just one endless day. Topping and recovery have nothing to do with this issue, your plant is not sulking! The issue is a messed up metabolism and not having ever had the chance to complete her daily photosynthesis cycle. A great deal of things occur during the dark period that is vital to a plants well being, without sleep, these things can not happen. Go to the optimum lighting schedule of 18/6 and if she didn't start flowering within a couple of weeks, I would be very surprised. This will not affect your other plant negatively either. Next time, if growing autos, go with 18/6 from day one to harvest day, this is the optimum light/dark schedule. Your plants will be MUCH healthier, grow more and the buds more potent.......all because sleep is vital for plant health. Also, go easy on the defoliation (more leaves = more growth) and I would also advise against topping autos in the future too. The MYTH that it is ok to grow for weeks/months without sleep NEEDS to be removed from the growing world ASAP! Hope this helps, Organoman.

Hi there As already said I wouldn’t top an Auto as it will shock and lose valuable growing time, Some autos are quite small if indica dominant .. but going forward you want to try and stress them as less as possible there completely the opposite to photoperiod. Best of luck 🌱

Probably bad genetics in that cultivar. The other plant looks decent. Good luck finishing up your grow!

Topping - or any other kind of stressful technique, is not recommended for autoflowers... they're on a set time schedule that is "built in" to them and the risk is you will interrupt this schedule at a crucial point and the plant won't have time to recover ... which is what I think has happened here. If the Gorilla Glue was also topped, you got lucky... your Critical Purple wasn't able to recover in time to set her flowers so she's not going to do anything for you. She should be right alongside the Gorilla Glue and she's not... best to start over with that strain and this time, limit your techniques to LST only... Sorry! Good luck!
