depends on context a bit... you have many or few seedlings? could save some watts, dim a bit and reduce height from canopy to provide similar intensity of light as other configurations but with a much smaller footprint. if many seedlings me 80-100 and 30" high and you'll have a huge footprint with a fairly low intensity of light due to distance from plants. so, whatever you start off with, be ready to observe and adjust. Things you can observe that will dictate what to do: Stem color -- if it remains pale and stretches, it needs more light if it is not pale and very short, may need to reduce light a bit. Seedling has fallen over-- If stem is pale and weak, easy to assume it needs more light. make some sort of prop to hold it upright and off the soil. if it's not showing signs of stretching, it's too much light... yes falling over can be caused by both... reduce light, and prop it up... Internode length... (space between nodes on stem) if it elognates too much, reduce light if 2-3 nodes are stcked super tightly together and it seems leaves are popping out of same spot on stem, it's too much light. Eventually this will stunt a plant and it may take a week or two just for it to start growing normally again. basically the plant is receiving too much and for its own health stops growing taller. no thought, just a reaction to what is happening at top of plant. So, take some notes... when you find that happy zone for your light and environment (impacts how much a plant can handle too), you know an excellent starting point for the next grow with similarly aged plants. it may not always be the same if you live somewhere with changing seasons. temp and RH % play a role too. with one light it seems easy to remember, but if oyu take a few months off then pull it out again, you may forget, lol.. i have... so, just take notes on each light you own for best guess intial use... nomatter what you'll alway shave to observe and react what the plant does. never assume.

Viparspectra give you info on the percentage and distance your light should be at each stage, as this differs light by light and dependent on the space you have. Viparspectra give good info tho, you can trust it!
