I am starting under a MarsHydro TL1000 (150watts led), and I wanted to know when I should transfer to my grow tent, which I have a 600watt HPS all setup ready to go. Should I wait a few m ore weeks or is 2 weeks old ok to put under?

The hps will produce more heat but if you can control the environment right you can change at any time.

base it on how much area you need to cover.. once the plants are too big for the led footprint, you should move up. save the watts in teh meantime.

Hi Shipton, I used to grow Sensi Seeds plants (different strains from you) under a 600W HPS light too. At the time I was using the HPS light since the first day even before the plant pop-out from the soil and I never had any particular issues because of that. So you can use your HPS whenever you want. However, a 600W HPS light heats a lot. In my setting I had only a reflector with no heat extraction system. I only grew in winter and in a full room (no grow tent) and even with that, I struggled with the high temperature. I used a 250W LED light for the first time this year and I will never go back to the HPS. I grew 4 plants under the 250W LED light. The yield was not amazing but quite good (see my diary if you are interested). I think 250W is a bit small for 4 plants. But your 150W LED light is probably enough for 2 plants. I would recommend to forgot about your HPS and to use your LED light until harvest. Good luck with your grow!

I tend to see HPS being used for flower and CMH used in veg stage of growing cannabis in HID style lighting. Not saying it won't work the spectrums are just different. If anything I would use LED all the way as they are easier to use IMO and less heat issues. 150W is lower but if your only growing out a few 1-2 plants it should be fine. put up some white walls to make a makeshift tent and reflect all the light you can back at them. Good Luck!

We're coming into summer mate, you'd be better keeping the ts1000 obviously depending on the size of the grow area. I used to use a 600w hps bulb but always struggled with temps during summer. But they would be fine under the 600w bulb even at this stage just hang the light high
