First coco grow

I've been growing soil for a few years now. I've decided it's now time to give coco a try, I'm cautious over using nutes straight away. My question is should I just follow the chart ? Or go off what I know from using light mix and alter it accordingly ? Started with voodoo n b52

I grow in coco. It is a inert substrate. It generally has a ph of 7. Your run off ph is very important. 5.8 in and out is what you need in vegging. Plus cal mag Is needed because coco absorbed it. Coco always needs to be wet with right ph. After 7 days from sprout you need to start nutrition. I feed every other day. I add ph water between feedings to keep coco moist. You need more help just dm me. 🤜🤛🌱

it's better to figure out the nutrient ppms individually and in total from the labels... if you stick to 600-750ppm or 1.2-1.5EC, and religiously get 10% runoff waste water, you will maintain substrate EC with no buildup. The runoff is essential for it to work long-term. 70/30 is a great mix.. this will be similar to 50/50 soil/perlite as far as water capacity and how much it'll take to irrigate, if that helps. These should be fairly spot on given a roughly 6.0 pH. Autos may need on low side. Bloom may be better on low side for N. genetic variation does exist in regard to these, but if you dial in a good ratio relative to your pH, it'll be a great mix for 90% of all strains with minor adjustment with observation. 120-140N 45-60 P 180-210 K These vary with tap water Ca 100+ Mg 85+ S 100+ The 10% runoff maintains a safe level of nutes in soil. It'll also help maintain your pH. If you dial in a mix somehwere near these values... then observe and react to a plant, within 1 grow you'll have eveything damn near spot on relative to any differences in your garden. I'd recommend looking into jacks 321 3 part system.. though you only need part A from them, i would buy generic part b / generic epsom salt for the other 2 parts and save money, since it's just like generic Rx drugs - molecularly exactly the same damn thing. google 'online nutrien ppm calcultor'... it's not something you have to do often, and once you have it dialed in it'll only be minor changes that don't require recalclation... start in same safe spot, then adjust for small issues, if any. Should be rare.

Hey Growmie, I’m no coco expert, but it is a very inert medium. There is typically no build up like soil would have, which is why it tends to be a little less forgiving. Coco tends to need feeds more often than straight watering. PH limits are also different than Soil, keep that in mind. Use your instinct, start at 65-75% recommended dose and see how they react. Happy Gardening 🇨🇦👊❤️
