When to add Nutes to Ocean Forest?

In week 6, I’m growing autos in Fox Farms Ocean Forest. I’m going to gently work in some Fox Farms Strawberry Fields as the plants begin to flower. What is the best approach to adding additional nutrients at this point? Especially to support flower.

FFOF soil is a hot soil and can burn some autos. If you wanted to you could top dress with it to add in more nutrition to the plants. One thing about autos is they dislike strong feeds and can be really picky when there rootzone is not ideal. If you plan on feeding them with some extra nutrition I would suggest following a plan with structured EC levels to follow to avoid triggering the plant. I like this site a lot for a basic guide and simple to follow chart. Its not perfect and not set in stone but should help you out a bit. https://www.autoflower.net/forums/threads/med-man-method-feeding-chart-ppm-ec.47856/ Soil based grows also hold onto the nutrition more then a soilless grow. So less is really more in this case. Take it slow and let the plant tell you when its good. This is all assuming you will be feeding a liquid fertilizer vs dry amendments. If they are amendments I'd mix them into the top soil at 1/2-1/3 recommended strength and with some extra bacteria/myco. Good Luck!

All I use is FFOF I add some flowering dry amendments at around the 30 day mark for autos. Gives it the 2 weeks to cook in the soil if your using liquid start with less since it hits the roots right away

Yes, this is the perfect time to start giving nutrients. The soil got enough nutrients for about 6 weeks. You need to give a blooming nutrient with a higher ratio on phosphorus (P) and potassium (K). You can start giving a bloom basic nutrient. This contains all the nutrients necessary for during flowering. And you can give a PK product like PK-Booster or PK 13/14 Always start with small steps. Around 25% from the adviced amount by the fertilizer company. You can always add more but can not get it out once given. And always up with 25% or down with 25% Plants do not like huge changes thats why the small steps. Enjoy your grow!

Flowering needs additional potassium and phosphorus... one good way to add at least the K is to sprinkle about a tablespoon of Langbeinite on top of the soil and it will water in slowly... it has an NPK of 0-0-22 so it will really target the buds, making them larger and more dense.... Good luck!
