When your plant has 95-99% brown pistils, you will be in the harvest window.

A decent pair of jewelers loupes won’t set you back much and it is fun/smart to take a close look at your plant throughout its growth cycle to get a better idea of how you plant is changing and reacting

1. Trichomes: One of the most reliable ways to determine if a cannabis plant is ready to be harvested is to examine the trichomes, which are the small, mushroom-shaped structures on the buds and leaves of the plant. When the trichomes are mostly clear or milky white, the plant is likely ready to be harvested. 2. Pistils: Another way to determine when a plant is ready to harvest is by examining the pistils, which are the small, hair-like structures on the buds. When the pistils have turned from white to brown, the plant is likely ready to be harvested. 3. Color of the leaves: The leaves of the cannabis plant will start to yellow and die off as the plant matures. When the majority of the leaves have yellowed or turned brown, the plant is likely ready to be harvested. 4. Smell: As the plant matures, it will start to give off a strong, pungent odor. When the odor is strong and mature, the plant is likely ready to be harvested.

First indication is going to be the color of the pistils and the overall look of the plant... if the plant's leaves are turning colors and the pistils are about 80% brown, you're probably ready. BEST way to know is to get a jeweler's loupe and take a really close look at the trichomes on the buds (not the leaves) - if they are all cloudy as opposed to clear, you're ready IF you only want a head high... if they're all cloudy and about 10-20% of them are turning amber, you'll have a nice combination of a head high and body stone ... it will all depend on what you want from your smoke.
