Oozleanswered grow question 3y ago The maximum saturation level of dissolved oxygen in 70f (21c) water is approximately 9 ppm.
The ideal nutrient temperature for adequate oxygen in the solution and healthy nutrient uptake is 68-72f (20-22c)
if the solution is too cold it reduces the water/nutrient uptake by plants.
"An upper limit for elevated root zone dissolved oxygen concentration for tomato reported very little (minor) growth benefit was achieved in tomato when dissolved oxygen was elevated from 8.5 ppm to 30 ppm."
"Two weeks from the start of the experiment, roots in the 40 mg L−1 treatment exhibited stunted growth, became thicker, and had fewer side and fine roots compared to roots in the lower levels of DO treatment. Almost all the measured growth parameters (fresh and dry weights of root, stem, and leaf, leaf area, stem diameter) were significantly reduced in plants grown in the 40 mg L−1."
