My tap water has an EC of zero and a PPM 500 of twenty,
When that low do i really need a RO water filter system for my RDWC setup?

My guess is your EC meter does not go to 2 decimal places. PPM is just EC converted.
Just to clarify you have an EC of 0.04 and a PPM(500 scale) of 20.
No you do not need an RO system. My RDWC grows have all been with tap water of 180ppm(500 scale) EC 0.36.

I've never heard of that and I've never had any problems, in my opinion, you can use it without worry, check the pH, feed properly, and you'll do great.

Good quality soil for second grow?I’m looking for a good quality soil for my second run of plants for when I transplant. I used miracle grow organic potting mix for my first run but was told without the person knowing the brand it was trash just from the looks of it. Dont want to make that mistake again.

My inflow was 300
My outflow was nearly 2000
I calibrated my bluelab pen to ensure accuracy.

Worms in pot.Worms in pots. About a week after germination I have introduced about a dozen earthworms in the 10 liter bucket where my plant is growing. I read a lot about worm poo, but never I seen someone introducing worms in the pots where their plants grow. Anyone any experience? Why not?

Cant get Ph downHelp, i cant get ph down. My soil PH is very high, above 7.7. I tried to water It with phed water, ph 5, many times but the ph didnt change. Now i am flushing It and after 130 liters of phed water, the ph is the same. This plant os gonna die If I don't do something. Any ideas?Week 5

Drastic rise in ppm using top drip in hydrotonHey... i am having a problem with my top drip on hydroton (week 1). My ppm rises dramatically over a day and a half. Im talking 300ppm to 800ppm.
Hydroton has been rinsed well before use. I have run dwc and rdwc before in hydroton without any problems. Anyone have an idea?

soil not accepting waterSo last Sunday I watered in a little less than a gallon for each, in 7-gallon pots. the bottom is soaking wet, but about 1/2 inch down the soil seems bone dry. Medium is FF ocean forest and SOHUM Super soil at the bottom. the plants are showing over/underwatered. What do i do??6y ago

Overwatered cubes in hydro? Too close to the sun? or effect of having addHi All, I have issues with my first hydro grow - i effed up. I think i was too slow in the transfer over in the tank. Light is 200 PPFD, EC at 0.6, and barely added any nutes.
Did i manage to overwater some of these plants by having them too close to the net pot?2y ago

Chicken PoopWe have chickens and ducks which provide all kinds of poop. I have a pile I use to age it for about a year. It is a mix of poo, oyster shell and broken down leaf mulch. I am not sure exactly what it adds as for as nutrients. Does anyone have a guess?Week 10
