i can't tell if that's just a speck or if it's a bug?
pyrethrines kill on contact. concentrated is much more cost-effective than the ready-to-spray options.
predator bugs
neem oil -- if it has (misspelled) azardirachtin, it is more effective than without -- but also want to follow the safety instructions more carefully. without it, it can still be a deterrent but it won't physically hurt the insects. essentially is just horticulrural oil without the active ingredient. (my state doesn't allow retail sale of the real neem, for example, so depends on local laws)
if it's just about the hair like surface... that's normal.. you see things differently when zoomed in.. but it's always there.
anything that puts larva in teh soil i'd recommend Bt(i). mosquito bits and mosquito dunks are the brand name near me... but as long as the active ingredient is Bacillus Thurgingenysis.. lol misspelled, but lose enough ... then it'll work the same... the bacteria is what is important, not the label on the package. *assumes same bacterial load.
