Noticing my very bottom leaves are turning yellow. Should I be concerned with this? Any idea of the cause? I haven’t used any nutrients yet.

Hi Cookie_thefarmer Yes it's an Auto you haven't given any Root stimulants and now Nutritions. Till now. So she is starting to eat from here oldest leaves. Looking for Nutrition to survive. It's normal for them to get yellow and fall off at some time. Your bottom leaves turning yellow because you lady is showing you she's hungry. It looks you Are looking for a small compact plant with what I see it is in a small pod. Suggestion- Feed as soon as possible Add 1/4 dose grow nutrition from recommend suppliers maximum in 1 l off water. It's an auto and they eat less. And start feeding her my friend. Get the lights closer with 10cm so she gets going. Hope this helps And good luck with your first grow.

It's looking like you got her under control now, well done. I would introduce a small bloom /flower feed now too and very low dosage as you can see first pistils almost! Don't under estimate the need for nutes! 🌱👍

Hey cookie, I see that this is an old question but I noticed that you have some residue on your leaves. Be careful misting your plants or getting water on them when watering. It can cause burns. She looks pretty healthy now though. Good luck!

Hey friend, often the lowest earliest leaves will discolor and die off, especially the cotyledons. But this second set, i have a plant who did identical and i did plant in fox farm, correct ph etc.. You could try a very low dose feeding, but if the rest of the plant is coming in healthy i wouldn't worry. Just wait for the new soil and transplant and ph as usual and keep growing forward. ✌️

In the beginning of the grow your seedlings have enough nutrients. They don’t need much Nutrients and get enough of the soil you use. I guess now it’s time to use some nutrients. I guess it’s a sine they have a short on nutrients. Good luck

One thing that could cause yellowing is water with pH that's too high or low. If you're not doing anything to adjust the pH of your water, MOST of the time it will eventually lead to deficiencies, but there are a lot of exceptions to that. However, in my experience the cotyledon will eventually yellow and fall off at a certain age, regardless of how the rest of the plant is doing. So it may not be an indication of what's going on in the soil at all. If it were me, I'd wait and see if the yellowing spreads to the real leaves. If it does, I would advise doing some pH adjustment if you're not already. If that doesn't take care of it then try adding a little nitrogen however you prefer to do that. On an unrelated note, it looks like you might want to move your light closer to the plant. The amount of stretching it's done could mean that it's not getting enough light. It looks like you're using a blue and red LED. Read the manual before making any changes, but generally speaking, those lights are safe to put 18-24 inches above your plant. If it's a different kind of light, just do a little reading to find the optimum height and your plant will thank you for it ;) I wish you all the best 😁

Hi there,it's getting hungry over time.If you are sure about your soil quality, then it definitely wants to eat some nutes. That's why cotyledons getting yellow, they are the first main energy source of a seedling.Give some nutrients and youll see the difference.Good luck :)
