How to know if a plant has dried sufficiently to cure

This is my 1st grow so I cut a node off a plant to experience the drying process before harvesting the whole plant. How will I know that it has dried sufficiently to cure? What should I be looking for? This has hung for 5 days in a shed already but it is 40°C and very humid here.

You can test it by bending the small branches in a 90 degrees angle, when they bend they are still to moist but when they break they are ready. I like to use boveda 62% humidity control packs to prevent mold during curing. Then you will get away with putting the buds a bit to wet inside the jar and you do not need to burp the jars because the humidity packs will suck up the moist and slowly release it back when necessary to keep humidity exactly on 62%

You can get a moisture meter for around 20 on Amazon, stick it on wood setting 12% is perfect For cure jars or bags….

take a bit and grind it. if it kind of grinds(most of it) you can cure it. maybe open the jar more often or add humidity packs to be sure.

if you are checking often, when it feels dry it probably needs another 12-24 hours. if you put it in a rh-controlled container when it first feels dry, it will most certainly sweat in the jar. once evened out, you need to take the buds out for more drying. rinse and repeat until they are at equilibrium. it's better to get that last bit of water weight out this way than to over dry and reconstitute with moisture. but if this last bit is taking to omany cycles, wait longer next time before starting the 'sweating' process. it's a feel thing. i usually only need 30mins to a couple hours of drying after first 12-16 hours in a container and after that the 2-way humidi paks can handle the water weight gassed off at end. unlike tobacco i don't think any chemical process is going on for the stuff we care most about. curing is just bout getting it storage-ready -- it won't grow shit on it and it has "just" enough moisture it's smooth to smoke. some of the terpenes must evolve a bit because aromas and flavors can change those first few weeks.

why with all the leaves? also 5 days is usually ok, general internet consensus is when the branch snap instead of bending but i left things that would not stap even after weeks so 5 days is usualy ok. Also if you dry to much is not ideal.
