Best time to harvest?

When do you know your plants are ready to harvest? My first grows are almost at their 12th week mark since germination. I want to make sure I harvest when it optimum time. Thanks!

2 plants pictured look quite a bit different. so one may get done before the other. The first one has less plump and moer white pistils, i think. this one has longer.
You don't have to get the scope out yet... when it looks like bud you'd smoke, stat scoping trichomes.
if you haven't, drop N a bit as leaves in sencond pic are a bit glossy. prolly need to drop Mg a bit along with N assuming enough was given before.

No trichomes almost week 8.Hi guys my g.g. auto from fastbuds is 7 weeks 4 days old. I would have thought the trichomes would have started. Also the white hairs are turning brown. Im thinking my light is to close. Idk though. Any suggestions would be great.Week 7

How to Trigger30 years ago I grew a lot under HPS and have just recently gotten back into it. One thing we always did was to turn off the lights for a 24 hour period to supposedly trigger the plants faster. I learned this from the person who taught me how to grow.
